Experienced Lawyer Josh Edelson
Prior to joining Gianaris Trial Lawyers, Josh Edelson was an associate at the prominent law firm of Walton Telken, LLC and a local defense firm where he represented and advised individuals in personal injury matters, class actions, mass torts, insurance companies, governmental entities, and corporations on civil litigation matters in state and federal court involving general liability, wrongful death, commercial disputes, insurance coverage, and bad faith. During that time Josh secured numerous victories on behalf of his clients, including high six figure settlements and multi-million-dollar judgments, both in and out of the courtroom. Josh’s achievements, dynamic ability, and reputation he has developed in advocating for his clients’ rights, both in and out of the courtroom, led him to be selected by his peers as a Super Lawyers Rising Star in 2022 and 2023. This distinction recognizes a select number of accomplished and promising young lawyers and is awarded to only 2.5% of attorneys under the age of 40.
In addition to his successes, Josh has and continues to participate in legal aid and civil rights initiatives and court-appointed programs for those who deserve a second chance or require pro-bono representation. He has written articles for the Illinois State Bar Association published in its newsletter titled “The Policy” and has served, or currently serves on, the ISBA’s Young Lawyers, Insurance Law and Civil Practice and Procedure Litigation Committees. He is also a member of the Madison and St. Clair County Bar Associations, and the Southern District of Illinois Chapter of the Federal Bar Association.
Josh Edelson graduated with honors from the College of Charleston in 2013. As an undergraduate, he was a Division 1 NCAA golfer and was selected to the all-conference team as a freshman. He then attended the University of Connecticut School of Law where he earned his law degree in 2017. He is admitted to practice law in Illinois, Missouri, and the United States District Courts for the Southern District of Illinois and Eastern District of Missouri. During law school Josh was a clerk at Simmons Hanly Conroy, LLC in their Manhattan, NY and Alton, IL offices.
Josh enjoys playing and watching sports, and spending time with family and friends. He, his wife, and their three children reside in Edwardsville, Illinois.
